Document access level
Documents submitted with a filing are automatically given a predetermined access level of public, private non-public, or private. In addition, the securities regulatory authority can update the filing status to private – incorrect filing, private non-public – incorrect filing, private – incorrect format as applicable. Below is a high-level overview of these access levels:
Public Access Level: All users can view a document with this access level.
Private non-public Access Level: Can never be turned public. Only users with authority can view a document with this access level.
Private Access Level: Initially private but can be turned public. Only users with authority can view a document with this access level.
Private – Incorrect Filing Access Level: Something is wrong with the document or the document was filed incorrectly. The filer must make the corrections and resubmit the document. Only users with authority can view a document with this access level.
Private Non-Public – Incorrect Filing Access Level: Something is wrong with a document that has a ‘Private Non-Public’ status or the document was filed incorrectly. The filer must make the corrections and resubmit the document. Only users with authority can view a document with this access.
Private – Incorrect Format Access Level: The file format is wrong. The filer must resubmit the file in an acceptable format. Only users with authority can view a document with this access level.
